Investigation:

We started the investigation by using Google keyword search using the term, ‘Uddhav Thackeray’s speech in Wardha’.

We found a 12 minute video uploaded on the YouTube channel of Zee 24 Taas.

Here in the video instead it is seen, that the Congress members and even the MVA candidate from Wardha Amar Kale is insisting Uddhav Thackeray to address the rally. While Thackeray is seen saying that he will speak only for 5 minutes, others on stage are insisting him to speak at least for 15 minutes. He then tells the crowd that they attend the entire event, even if he leaves midway.

On the YouTube channel of Saam TV we found a video where, a person interrupts Amar Kale and tells him that Uddhav Thackeray has a flight to catch and needs to leave early.

Thackeray spoke for around 10 minutes after that in the rally that was held on 22nd April 2024. He also urged the crowd at the end to wait for Amar Kale’s speech and only leave after.

In the next step of investigation we reached out to the three-time Congress MLA Amar Kale from Wardha. Talking to Lighthouse Journalism he informed that the viral claim is fake. There were some time constraints and hence Uddhav Thackeray was forcing him to address the gathering instead, Amar Kale informed.

Conclusion: Claim that Congress workers did not let Uddhav Thackeray speak during the election rally in Wardha, is fake. On the contrary, they were urging him to talk. Viral claims are false.
