Lighthouse Journalism found a video of a boy riding a bicycle on water. It was claimed that the bike was made by the boy seen in the video, and the cycle also appeared to be made of plastic bottles.
During the investigation we found that the video is generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
Claim:
Instagram user Nica Tv shared the video on their platform.
Other users are also sharing the same video with similar claim.
Similar videos are also being shared online, with the video showing a different man.
Investigation:
There were several anomalies in the video that suggested it could be AI-generated. The first anomaly was a bicycle made from water bottles seemingly being ridden on water.
Considering this, we downloaded the video into the AI-generated content detection tool, HIVE Moderation.
The tool suggested that the video is 90.9 % likely to be generated using AI tools.
Another AI content detection tool, Undetectable AI, also suggested that the video was AI-generated.
Conclusion: The viral video showing a boy riding a bicycle made from bottles on water is AI-generated. The viral claim is fake.
