Lighthouse Journalism found a video being shared widely on social media platforms. It was being claimed along with the video that it was from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent trip to China, where people welcomed him with BJP flags.
During the investigation, we found that the video was not from China but from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Instagram user @_modi_jee_143 shared this video on his profile with a misleading claim.

Other users are also sharing the video with the same claim.
Investigation:
We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.
This led us to a YouTube short uploaded by the YouTube channel of Jansatta posted on August 26, 2025.

We also found the video on several other channels.
Conclusion: The viral video being shared with the claim of PM Narendra Modi being welcomed in China with BJP flags is actually from Ahmedabad. The viral claim is misleading.
