Lighthouse Journalism found a picture being widely shared on social media platforms. It was claimed that the image shows the UK Parliament with Israel flags used in the room. We found out through the investigation that the image was edited and the UK Parliament did not feature Israel flags.

Claim:

X user TUCKER CARLSON (Parody) shared the viral image.

Other users too are sharing the image with the same claim.

Investigation:

We started the investigation of the image by using a Google reverse image search.

A simple reverse image search revealed the original image.

We saw similar images being used by several news organisations.

The original image was however from 2022, where UK PM Rishi Sunak is seen speaking.

The picture is also available on the stock images website, ‘Alamy‘.

However, the modified image could have been shared with respect to proceedings in the UK Parliament. According to a report, the uproar followed by the speaker to ignore precedent and allow a vote which helped the opposition Labour Party avoid a large-scale rebellion among its own lawmakers over its position on the Israeli-Hamas war.
