Lighthouse Journalism came across two images of US President Joe Biden dressed in a military uniform. It was claimed along with the images that Biden held a meeting with top military leadership.
Upon investigating it was found that the viral images are generated using artificial intelligence tools.
Claim:
X user, formerly Twitter @Aqssss shared the viral image on profile.

Other users too are sharing similar images.
The image is being shared on Facebook too.
Investigation:
We started our investigation by running a reverse image search on the viral images. We did not find any credible source that had shared the viral images.
We then zoomed into the picture and tried to find clues.
There were a few giveaways in the picture, such as ‘blur images of other military officials’, ‘entangled fingers of US President Joe Biden’, ‘blur images of phones and other devices’ etc.
This indicated that the pictures might have been AI generated.
We then ran these images through AI detectors.
Through HIVE Moderation we found out that the first image was 99.9% likely to be AI generated.
Another image also gave the same image through HIVE Moderation.
We also ran the images through Maybe’s AI Art detector.
It was hence clear that the images were AI generated.
Through several posts on X and context added through community notes, we found out that the pictures were made by X user Luke.
Conclusion: Viral images of US President Joe Biden seen in military outfits are generated using AI tools.
