Fact check: Viral video claiming arrest of man plotting Bhopal blast is from a film shoot

The viral video claiming the arrest of Adil Kazmi, who was allegedly plotting a blast in Bhopal, is actually related to a Telugu film shoot. The viral claim is false.

Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms. In the video a man was seen being taken into custody from the streets. It was claimed that the clip features a man, ‘Adil Kazmi’ plotting bomb blast in Bhopal.

During the investigation we found that the viral claim is false. The video is a scene from a Telugu movie and not recent case of an accused being caught.

Claim:

X user Ruhi Varma shared the video on his profile with false claim.

Other users are also sharing the video with same claim.

Investigation:

We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.

This led us to a video uploaded on YouTube on November 28, 2025. The hashtags used along with the video were, ‘movie’ and ‘pinchkuelru’.

The user name of the account was Adil Kazmi, we also found his Instagram account.

He had clarified the rumours about him through a post.

He wrote: This is the movie from where people are sharing my shot and spreading fake news about me.

The user also shared the actual scene from the movie in the highlights, which we also found on Youtube.

Part 2 of the video was also uploaded by him on December 3.

We found the Telugu movie which was uplaoded on YouTube 2 years ago.

We also found the exact scene from the movie.

We then checked if there were any media reports about this incident, but we did not find any credible media reports.

Conclusion: The viral video claiming the arrest of Adil Kazmi, who was allegedly plotting a blast in Bhopal, is actually related to a Telugu film shoot. The viral claim is false.
