Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms. It was being claimed along with the video that several weapons and money were found after raiding a Mosque in Manipur in India.
During the investigation, we found that the video is not from Manipur, but from Myanmar. The viral claim is false.
Claim:
Instagram user Satya Sanatan shared the video on his profile with a false claim.

Other users are also sharing the video with the same claim.


Investigation:
We began the investigation by conducting a reverse image search on the keyframes extracted from the video, excluding the text overlay.
Several Burmese accounts had shared similar images.
We then found a BNRA written over a soldier’s uniform, which stands for the Burma National Revolutionary Army.
We found the reel uploaded on the Facebook page, Hlaing Info. The caption stated (translated): A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered during the battle for Falam, Chin State.

The bio of the page said: We are committed to bringing unbiased and accurate news to the people of Myanmar. We believe in freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of thought. We will always strive to ensure the people’s right to information.

We also found the video uploaded on the YouTube channel, Red News, on April 14, 2025.
Description said: Weapons and money were seized from the Falam town.
Falam is a town in north-western Burma (Myanmar) near Burma’s western border with the Indian state of Mizoram.
We also found similar images on the X profile of Chindwin News Agency in a post on April 9, 2025.
Conclusion: An old video from Myanmar of weapons seized from the junta regime’s battalion in Falam town is being shared with claims that the video is from Manipur. The viral claim is false.
