Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media. The video showcased an accident on a rope bridge. It was claimed the video was from Bali in Indonesia.

During the investigation, we found that the video is AI-generated. The viral claim is false.

Claim:

X user Vipin Kumar shared the video on his profile.

Other users are also sharing the same AI-generated video.

Investigation:

We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the screenshots obtained from the video.

We found the video on an Instagram handle kolotiv.ai, uploaded over six days ago.

The bio of the handle said: Sergey Kolotov | Neural Network Specialist & AI Creator

The creator had mentioned in their bio that they were an AI creator.

We then ran the screenshots of the video through an AI detector and found that the image was created using AI.

We also looked through recent news reports to see if any such accident had taken place in Bali, Indonesia, but didn’t come across anything.

Conclusion: The viral video of a rope bridge falling in Bali, in Indonesia, is generated using AI. The viral video is fake.
