Lighthouse Journalism came across a video of a tractor being widely shared on social media platforms. It was being claimed along with the video that the tractor was specially prepared for the recent farmers protest. However, after investigation, it was found that the video of the tractor is not from India but the video is from Turkey.
Claim:
X user Sunny Sharda shared the viral video on his profile.

Investigation:
We started our investigation about the post by uploading the video in the InVid tool and running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained through the same.
On running a reverse image search we found a Tweet by X user Siddharth, who shared a screenshot stating that the video was from Turkey.
The screenshot was from an Instagram profile, ‘ortakoy_haberim‘. We then checked the profile.
The viral video was published on this profile on 1st February, 2024.
The caption along with the video was, ‘🎈Dubleks Kabinli Traktör’, which when translated suggested it was, ‘🎈Duplex Cabin Tractor’.
We also found the video on the Instagram profile titled, ‘cengizler_tarim_55’.
The video here was posted on 31st January, 2024. The user wrote, ‘This is the original video and he is the owner of the same’.
This was a clear video and hence we saw that the text on the tractor said, ‘HATTAT 260G’.
We found the same tractor company on the internet. The company was, ‘Hattat Traktor‘. This is a Turkish tractor manufacturer.
Conclusion: Video of a tractor shot in Turkey being shared as that of a tractor seen at the ongoing farmers’ protest in India. Viral claim is false.
