Fact check: Manoj Bajpayee did not shoot a promotional video for any political party; the viral video is edited

Lighthouse Journalism found a video of Manoj Bajpayee being widely shared on social media platforms. The video featured the actor promoting the Rashtriya Janata Dal ahead of the Bihar polls.

During the investigation, we found that the video was edited, and Manoj Bajpayee did not act in a promotional video.

Claim:

Rajshree Yadav shared the edited video on their profile.

Other users are also sharing the same video with similar claims.

Investigation:

We found a watermark on the video, which said ‘Spoof’.

We then ran a reverse image search on the keyframes from the video.

We found the same video on the YouTube channel of Prime Video India.

Here we could clearly see that the viral video was edited to look like a campaign video of RJD.

We also found a clarification by Manoj Bajpayee posted on X on 16th October, 2025.
