As blasts rock Tehran and missiles hit Tel Aviv, as Israel and Iran exchange fire for the fifth day, a video is being widely shared on social media platforms, it is claimed, along with the video that it depicts the destruction of Tel Aviv in Israel.
During the investigation, we found that the video is AI-generated and predates air strikes.
Claim:
X user Ahmad Hassan Chattha shared with video with a false claim.
Other users are also sharing the same video with a similar claim.
Investigation:
We started the investigation of the video by uploading it to the InVid tool. We then ran a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.
We found this video uploaded on an Instagram handle, 3amelyon on June 5.
We checked the bio of the page, it said: Workers 🕊 Palestine 🕊 ⚔️ AI Resistance ⚔️
The page posted AI-generated content.
The video was also posted on its TikTok channel.
We then uploaded the video to the HIVE AI detector. The tool also detected AI content in the same.
Conclusion: AI-generated video showing destruction in Israel is being widely shared as real and recent after Iran attacks on Iran. The viral video is fake.
