Fact check: Video from Italy goes viral as recent from Dubai Air Show

Viral video claiming to show the Indian Air Force from the Dubai Air Show is an old video from the Jesolo Air Show in Italy. The viral claim is misleading.

Dubai Air Show, which was organised last week, witnessed the tragic Tejas fighter jet crash. The crash on November 21 claimed the life of the pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Sial.

After the incident, another video was widely shared, claiming to be from the air show, where the users claimed that the Indian Air Force filled the sky with tricolor, the colors of the Indian flag.

During the investigation, we found that the video was not from the Dubai air show, but was unrelated and old from Italy. The viral claim is misleading.

Claim:

X user Vanshika shared the video with a misleading claim on her profile.

Other users are also sharing the video with a similar claim.

Investigation:

We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.

We found a similar video posted on Facebook in 2024, which suggested that the video could have been from Italy during an air show in the country.

We found the same video posted on X in June 2025.

We found the video from the air show on YouTube.

We found the verified handle of ‘jesolotourism’ on Instagram.

We found a reel from the airshow, showing similar visuals from the video on the page.

We also found the schedule of the air show on its website.

Conclusion: Viral video claiming to show the Indian Air Force from the Dubai Air Show is an old video from the Jesolo Air Show in Italy. The viral claim is misleading.
