Lighthouse Journalism came across a video being shared widely on social media platforms. It was claimed along with the video, that it showed a fire that started at the home of an artist from the movie ‘Udaipur Files’. It is being claimed that members of the Muslim group set the fire, saying that the film should not be released.
During the investigation, we found that the video being widely shared was from Colombia and not India.
Claim:
Facebook user Sanatani Bhokal shared the video with a misleading claim.

Other users are also sharing the same video with similar misleading claim.

Investigation:
We began the investigation by uploading the video to the InVid tool and then conducting a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from it.
We found this video on an X handle, Colombia Oscura.
The post said (translation): Nazareth community, Uribia municipality (Alta Guajira), set fire to the police station after officers, in an alleged mistake, killed Yulbert Barboza, a young man driving a truck similar to one used hours earlier in an attack against the Public Forces.
The police, still tense from the events that occurred last night (4JUL), mistook his approach and fired without verifying. Minutes later, the community reacted with fury: they doused the police station with gasoline and set it ablaze. Chaos, screams, and tears marked a painful night in the heart of the Guajira desert.
In several videos shared on social media, the exact moment of the fire can be seen. People run, some shout, others try to flee from the flames. The community demands justice. Yulbert’s family seeks answers.
We also found a news report about the incident.
The report said: In confusing events, a young man identified as Yulbert Fernández Barbosa died while traveling with others in a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire. Several police officers were involved in the incident. The enraged community set fire to the police station, causing severe damage. So far, there has been no official statement from the authorities.
Conclusion: A video depicting unrest in Colombia is being falsely circulated as footage from India, allegedly linked to the recent film Udaipur Files. The viral claim is misleading.
