Fact Check: Video Of Priyanka’s Roadshow Viral As Akhilesh Yadav’s Recent Rally

Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav shared a stage in Kannauj and Kanpur on April 10. Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from Kannauj in the Lok Sabha elections, with voting scheduled for May 13. Meanwhile, a video of a large rally and convoy of vehicles is circulating on social media, with many people holding flags resembling the Indian tricolour. Many users say it is the recent public meeting in support of Akhilesh Yadav in Kannauj.

Claim:

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “मुझे तो लगता है अखिलेश यादव को कन्नौज से जीत का प्रमाणपत्र पहले ही दे दिया जाए, वरना साहब ने इतनी बुरी हार की कल्पना भी नहीं की होगी। 2022 के चुनाव में लोगो में जोश देखा था 2024 के चुनाव में लोगो में भयंकर आक्रोश के साथ रेला भी देखने को मिल रहा है Akhilesh Yadav” (English version: See below👇).

Running the viral video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team discovered it on the ‘Prag News’ Instagram account, posted on April 17, claiming it was from Priyanka Gandhi’s roadshow in Saharanpur. A clearer version was found on Instagram on April 20, with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s watermark visible. Further searches on Priyanka Gandhi’s social media revealed the video on her official Instagram account, posted on April 18, showing Congress flags.

The video was also found on the Congress Goa unit’s Instagram account on April 17. As per the video contents, Priyanka Gandhi conducted a roadshow — starting from Gol Kothi on Chilkana Road and concluding at Gurudwara Road — in support of Congress candidate Imran Masood in Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency, where she addressed the gathering from an open jeep.
