Lighthouse Journalism found a video of an event being widely shared on social media platforms. The video showed people vandalising an event venue. It was being claimed along with the video that the farmers were vandalising the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini’s recent event. During the event we found that the video is old and related to the old event of ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’.
Claim:
X user, Dilip Verma shared the viral video on his profile.

Other users too are sharing the video with the same claim.
Investigation:
We ran the reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.
This led us to a video uploaded on X on January 12, 2021.
Which established that the video is from 2021. We found one specific keyframe, where the board being torn had ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ written on it.
We then ran a Google search using the terms, “Kisan Mahapanchayat” “2021” “stage” “vandalised”. Through this we found a few news reports about the event.
We found a news report on India Today.
The report mentioned that 71 people had been booked over the Karnal incident in which protesting farmers vandalised the ‘kisan mahapanchayat’ venue.
The report mentioned: Protesting farmers vandalised the venue of a Kisan Mahapanchayat where Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was to address people to highlight benefits of the Centre’s three agricultural laws.
We also found a video uploaded three years ago on the YouTube channel of The Indian Express.
Conclusion: Old video of farmers vandalising venue of the then Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ in Karnal being shared as recent from Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini’s event. Viral claims are false.
