Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms, even in the regional languages of the country. It was claimed along with the video that Amit Shah had said during an election rally that BJP will end SC, ST and OBC reservation if voted to power. During the investigation we found that the viral video was edited.
Claim:
X user Bhaskar Rasekar shared the viral video on his profile with the claim in Marathi.

Investigation:
We started our investigation by uploading the video in the InVid tool. We ran a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained through the same.
We found the exact image of Amit Shah from one of these keyframes on the website of NDTV.
The video was uploaded on April 24, 2023 and was titled: Amit Shah Vows to Scrap Muslim Quota in Telangana
We then did a Google search on the title and found that the video was carried by several other media organizations.
Through Google keyword search, we found the exact video clip that has been going viral on V6 News Telugu.
The video was uploaded a year ago.
Here, in the video, Amit Shah is seen commenting on the Muslim reservation.
We also found the video of this entire speech uploaded on the YouTube channel of Amit Shah.
The video was uploaded over a year ago. At 14 mins 30 seconds he is seen speaking about Muslim reservations. He says, “If BJP is voted to power, we will end this unconstitutional Muslim reservation. The opportunities that SC, ST and OBC communities of Telangana deserve, they will be awarded the same by ending the Muslim reservation.”
No where in the entire speech has Amit Shah said about ending the reservation of SC, ST and OBC if voted to power.
In the latest development, a case has been filed on this doctored video by the BJP.
The Delhi police on Sunday registered an FIR in complaint over the doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Conclusion: Viral video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah where he said that if BJP is voted to power they will end SC, ST and OBC reservations, is doctored. Viral claim is false. An FIR has been also registered in this case.
