Haryana’s travel YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was recently arrested on espionage charges and remanded in custody. Jyoti Malhotra, 33, has 3.85 lakh YouTube subscribers. Her YouTube account has videos and reels of travel in which she describes her experiences. Amidst the reports of her probe, two pictures are being widely shared on the internet.
One shows her wearing a cap and a scarf of the BJP, and the other, that of AAP. During the investigation, we found that both images were AI-generated.
Claim:
X user Aquif Ali Siddiqui shared the image on his X profile.
Other users are also sharing the picture with similar claims.
The same image is being shared, claiming the YouTuber belonged to AAP.
Investigation:
We observed these images, which were strikingly similar, which led us to believe that these could be AI-generated.
We first ran the first image through multiple AI detectors.
HIVE Moderation suggested that the image was AI-generated.

isitai.com also suggested that the image was generated using AI.

We then ran a check using AI detectors on the second image.


We got similar results for the image showing Jyoti as an AAP supporter.
Conclusion: Pictures showing YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra arrested for espionage as a BJP and AAP supporter are fake. The images are AI-generated.
