Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms, amidst the war in West Asia.

It was being claimed along with the video that it shows, ballistic missiles hitting Tel Aviv.

During the investigation we found that the video is old, from 2025 and not recent. The viral claim is misleading.

Claim:

X user Brian Allen shared the viral video on his profile.

Other users are also sharing the video with similar claim.

Investigation:

We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.

This led us to the YouTube handle of Forbes Breaking News, however the video had been removed from the page.

We found the video posted by a Facebook handle, Телевизија 24.

The caption said: The first group of evacuated Macedonian citizens from Israel, including four children, is already flying to Skopje on the government aircraft. They are expected to arrive at the Skopje airport this evening after leaving Israeli territory this morning and heading to Egypt in an organized convoy.

The keyframes in this video were similar to the viral video.

We also found the same video on the website DAILY MOTION. The date mentioned on the video was June 16, 2025.

The source was Forbes Breaking News.

The caption of the video uploaded 9 months ago was: Iran launched a retaliatory missile strike against Israel on Monday.

We found a news report in Al Jazeera about the same.

This report too had a video embedded to it.

We also found a news report about it on Guardian.

The video and the article was carried on another website.

The report said: The cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa were the most affected by this new wave of missiles. Israel has already responded through its Defense Minister. Israel Katz assures that, soon, the residents of Tehran will “pay the price” for these actions against Israeli territory.

Conclusion: Old video from June 2025, goes viral as recent as war escalates in West Asia. The viral claim is misleading.
