Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms. The video was claimed to be from Bihar, claiming that a Tsunami of people had gathered in Bihar for the rally of the INDIA alliance leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi.
During the investigation, we found that the video is old and is associated with a bullock cart race. The viral claim is misleading.
Claim:
LinkedIn user Sangeetha Sundaram shared the video with a misleading claim on her profile.
Other users are also sharing the video with similar claims.
Investigation:
We downloaded the video and uploaded it to the InVid tool. We extracted the keyframes and ran reverse image search on the screenshots.
We found the same video posted on Instagram on 22 June.
The caption said: Hindkesari Pedgaon ground 2025
We found a few similar videos on crowd on the YouTube channel of the same page.
We found several similar videos uploaded during the same time.
We also found a news report about the race uploaded on June 26.
The report stated: Bullock cart Race Pedgaon: A bullock cart race was held in Pedgaon. In it, a pair of bullocks named Haranya and Rifle from Kalyan won the Hind Kesari award. For coming first out of two thousand bullock pairs, these bullocks named Haranya and Rifle received a prize of one lakh rupees.

We also checked ‘Hindkesri Pedgaon Maidan’ on Google Maps and found a similar hill, from where the people view the bullock cart race.
Conclusion: Viral video of a bullock cart race from Pedgaon in Maharashtra is being shared as recent from the Bihar of INDIA block rally. The viral claim is misleading.
