Lighthouse Journalism discovered a video being widely shared on social networking sites, particularly Facebook. It was claimed, along with the video and its screenshots, that the video was from Bihar, India.

During the investigation, we found that the video and the screenshots being shared are generated using artificial intelligence (AI).

Claim:

Subhash Sharma shared the screenshot of a post with the viral claim.

Other users are also sharing the same video and the screenshots with similar claims.

Investigation:

In the first step of the investigation, we took a closer look at the video and found several anomalies that gave away that the video was AI-generated.

We then ran a reverse image search on the screenshots being shared with the viral claim.

We found a post that suggested that the video was AI-generated.

Through reverse image search, we found a post on Facebook that stated that the video was made using AI.

We then ran a screenshot from the video through an AI detector and found that it was created using AI.

Conclusion: The viral video that shows a bridge collapse, claiming to be from Bihar, is AI-generated. The video is fake.
