Earlier this month, Karnataka government reissued a 2013 circular that prohibits the use of government school grounds for private purposes, potentially clamping down on RSS activities on school premises.
However, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified that the government has not imposed any ban on the organisation, stating that the RSS is not mentioned anywhere in the order issued regarding permissions for associations to operate in school and college premises.
Amidst this controversy, Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared. The video featured route march by the RSS volunteers and it was claimed that they organised it in Karnataka despite the ban.
During the investigation, Lighthouse Journalism found that the video is from Nagpur Maharashtra and not from Karnataka.

Other users are also sharing the same video with similar claim.

Investigation:
We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.
This led us to a video report uploaded by YouTube channel of a media organisation, Jai Maharashtra News.
The video was uploaded five months ago.
We found that the video was reshared by News Arena India from their post on ‘May 25, 2025’, suggesting that it was an old video.
The caption clearly stated that the video was from Nagpur.
We also found the video on X handle of PTI uploaded on May 25, 2025.
But we found similar visuals on ANI handle too.
The caption was: Maharashtra | Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) conducted ‘Path Sanchalan’ (route march) in Nagpur.
Conclusion: Old video of route march from Nagpur is being shared as recent from Karnataka. The viral claim is false.
