Lighthouse Journalism came across a video being widely circulated on social media platforms. In the video a crowd is seen to be beating a man wearing a turban, social media users are claiming that it is Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann who was being beaten by the public. During the investigation it was found that the person seen in the video is not Bhagwant Mann, the viral claim is false.
Claim:
X user @AyodhyaPrasadN3 shared the viral video on his profile.

Investigation:
We started our investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes of the video.
One search on the keyframe led us to a Facebook post of JK Rozana News on 13th April.
The caption said that the video was from a rally of Yuva Jatt Sabha. It also mentions, ‘Amandeep Singh Boparai’ page in their caption.
We then checked the Facebook page of Amandeep Singh Boparai.
We found a video where Amandeep singh Boparai spoke during a press conference and demanded an investigation in the 13th April attack.
We also found a video where he spoke about the attack.
Giving the details, he informed that over 50 people attacked him.
We then ran a keyword search on YouTube and found a video on Channel 1, which explained what happened in the Yuva Jatt Sabha Rally.
We also found a video through keyword search on the website of Punjab Kesari.
Amandeep Singh Boparai had also said in a tweet that he was already threatened in the month of March that he would be attacked.
Conclusion: Old video of attack on Yuva Jatt Sabha president, Amandeep Singh Boparai in Jammu is being falsely shared as a recent video of a crowd attacking Punjab CM, Bhagwant Mann. Viral claims are false.
