Lighthouse Journalism found a video being widely shared on social media platforms. It was being claimed along with the video, that the video showed several lawyers beating BJP spokesperson and an advocate, Gaurav Bhatia. We found out during our investigation that the video is old and from a scuffle between lawyers and policemen.

Investigation:
We uploaded the video in the InVid tool and got several screengrabs from the same. We then ran a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained.
During the reverse image search we found a news report in Hindi. The news report was uploaded in the year 2019. It mentioned that a scuffle had broken between the lawyers and the policemen over the issue of parking.
The screengrabs in this video were very similar to the video being shared on the internet.
We then ran a Google keyword search about the incident.
We found several news reports about the same.
We found a few screengrabs from the viral video in a video news report by Aaj Tak.
We also found the visuals in the video report by India Today.
This established that the video is not recent but from 2019. However, recently a scuffle did break out between BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia and other lawyers at a Noida court after the former voiced his opposition to the ongoing advocates’ strike.
Conclusion: Video from 2019, which shows a scuffle between the lawyers and policemen, is now being shared claiming to be that of lawyers beating BJP spokesperson and an advocate Gaurav Bhatia.
