Lighthouse Journalism found an image being widely circulated on social media platforms. The image claimed to show Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke.
During the investigation we found that the viral image is AI-generated. There are no reports of PM Modi and CJP’s Dipke meeting each other.
Claim:
X user @shravanGarg shared the viral picture with a false claim.
Other users are also sharing the same image with a similar claim.
Investigation:
We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the viral picture. However, no credible websites carried this picture.
However, the picture was widely shared after Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut shared the image on his social media platform, which he later deleted.
He also alleged during a press conference that PM and CJP’s Dipke had met earlier in the US.
However, these were still allegations and there were no pictures to support the claims.
We then ran the image through an AI image detector.
We ran the clear image through HIVE’s AI content detector, which suggested the image was AI-generated.
We also ran the image through Sightengine and ZeroGPT’s AI image detectors and found that it was AI-generated.
Conclusion: CJP’s Abhijeet Dipke did not meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The viral image is AI-generated and is being shared with false claims.
