Yein Udaan, working with covid affected children

A few days ago, I came across an internet post related to an initiative in Tamil Nadu by a NGO – ‘Yein Udaan’. It is involved in taking care of underprivileged children through after-school activities.

Its goal is to establish safe spaces in low-income communities by offering learning opportunities to individuals of all age, sex, and occupation, It had started out as an education-based organisation, and evolved into a community-based one, aiming to improve standards of living in these communities.

The NGOs founder - Vedika Agarwal was a teacher at ne of Chennai’s corporation schools.

She started the initiative along with the Chennai Police Force during the rise of the pandemic to improve accessibility towards sanitation products, credible sources of information, and activities to keep kids motivated to remain indoors during the lockdown periods.

Till date her NGO has successfully delivered thousands of Grocery kits, sanitisation kits, masks, gloves, sanitisers and education kits in her region and are campaigning for funds to expand the process.

I request you and the editorial board to kindly assign a journalist to further pursue this story in detail. This will spread awareness in the minds of the citizens of our nation and encourage them to take up similar initiative towards the social good of our future generations and the development of our nation.
