This child with cancer needs a good meal

Your Rs 1,000 will ensure that one family gets access to nutritious meals for two weeks at St. Jude India ChildCare Centres

St. Jude India ChildCare Centres provides a home away from home for children undergoing cancer treatment. These children, accompanied by their parents, come from small villages and distant towns where medical treatment for cancer is not available.

St Judes, started in 2006, is operational in nine cities and works closely with over 21 major hospitals to identify families who need help.

So far since inception in the year 2006, St Judes has offered 10,87,235 peaceful nights to over 29,282 children admitted.

Children battling cancer have weakened immunity and are more prone to secondary infections. Along with the right treatment, a healthy diet is important to help the child feel better and cope with the side effects of cancer or its treatments.

Nutritious meals help children tolerate chemotherapy and its consequences. That means that even if they were well-nourished at the time of diagnosis, children with cancer are at significant risk of becoming malnourished. Therefore, providing a healthy diet to a child battling cancer is critical for improved results throughout therapy.

And who better than your own mother cooking a wholesome meal for you when you are sick?

Every family is given an individual family unit equipped with everything that they would need during their long stay. Most importantly, every family is given their own cooking stove in the common kitchen area along with all the basic provisions required to prepare a hearty meal.

Mothers stay with their children in these Centres and cook their favourite dishes ensuring that they get healthy comfort meals throughout their treatment.

When you donate ₹ 1,000 to St. Judes, you ensure that one family of a cancer afflicted child gets access to nutritious meals for two weeks.
